All existing phones by Xiaomi except the Mi 1 series can be upgraded starting August 14 to the MIUI 7 developer version.

In China, the new Redmi Note 2 can be purchased starting August 16 with the base model that has 2GHz and 16GB for 799 yuan or approximately $125 or slightly more memory for 899 yuan equal to $140 depending upon the network used. The higher-end Redmi Note 2 Prime with 2.2 GHz and 32GB will cost 999 yuan or $160.
